Anne Strauch, Miriam Radtke, Raluca Lupou (ed.), Flexible Pathways Towards Professionalisation. Senior Adult Educators in Europe, WBV Germany 2010

The professional qualification of adult educators is seen as a key precondition for the quality of educational provision for adults. The project "Flexible Pathways for Adult Educators between the 6th and 7th level of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)" (Flexi-Path) aimed to provide better comparability of the qualifications and competences of senior adult educators in Europe. This publication describes the ideas behind the project and explains the theoretical background.
The book also introduces a Toolkit for self-evaluation, based on a competence profile for adult educators at level 6 and 7 of the European Qualifications Framework that has been developed within the project. The Toolkit is as well an instrument which enables adult educators to define their own competences is a reflective and differentiated way, and to verify requirements as it is offering a new perspective on the validation of competences of adult educators. |

Manual for Promoting Political Participation |
|
Radu Szekely, Mihai Predescu - Manual for Promoting Political Participation

The Europol training materials tackle 3 different directions: civic action, social action and political action.
The Manual for promoting the political participation: Europol: Politics can be fun! offers a convincing argument to include teaching politics into regular training programmes. It proposes a journey in social and group learning, with the trainer in the role of the facilitator, the one who gives an input for learning. The expertise will be acquired by trainer and trainee alike. The manual offers a perfect situation when the trainer learns as much as he teaches.
The manual is structured in three parts. The first part describes briefly the benefits of and the reasons for teaching political involvement. Also this part describes the topics of the twelve units. The second part consists of twelve units, presented in a similar layout, so they are easy to use. All units have a main activity and a few alternatives in order to make it more flexible for the training needs. The third part contains a short description of the methods and tools proposed in the units. This part gives hints and explanations for those who might be new in leading a group.

Sava Simona şi Raluca Lupou (coord.), Handbook for the use of Validpack for the validation of psycho-pedaogical adult-educator's competences, Mirton Printinghouse, Timisoara 2008

For this reason Validpack aims to:
-
assess important adult educators competences
-
give space for the documentation of experiences
-
build a base for certification upon the validation results
-
be wide enough to be used on European level
-
document a minimum standard of competences of adult educators
-
put adult educators in the position to get across the frontier within Europe
-
be applicable for different contexts.
Validpack consists of the validation instruments designed within the VINEPAC project: mind map, reflection on biography, reflection on competences, “attachment”, observation checklist, interview grid, validation sheet.
In addition to these validation instruments, the present handbook for the use of Validpack contains some useful guidelines and indications for adult educators on how they should approach this validation process. This handbook shows adult educators how to use Validpack as a validation instrument to get validated as an adult educator.
Validpack is directed to all educators defined as trainers. That means, if you are an adult educator who has trainer experiences for more than one year / 150 h of working with adults you are entitled to use the Validpack and to get your adult educators’ competencies be validated. |
